We spent the weekend in Tirana learning about Albanian radio drama, troubleshooting our dramas and sound design!

We were joined by David Thomas, an award-winning sound designer who works with dramas, documentaries, audience shows, animation, advertising and more and Jessica Dromgoole, a highly experienced radio drama producer, champion of new writing and director for the BBC as well as having previously served as the New Writing Co-ordinator for BBC drama, Entertainment and Children’s programmes. 

Our residency finished with a fascinating visit to Radio Tirana, the Albanian national broadcaster, where we saw the radio drama studios, some of which had been the birthplace of Albanian radio drama and important international collaborations.
